WEIGHT LOSS INJECTIONS

Semaglutide and Tirzepatide injections
The term medical weight loss refers to the process of losing weight with the help and guidance of a health care professional. Our knowledge and expertise can help patients create a realistic plan to assist in their individual weight loss goals. Weekly or bi-weekly office visits are suggested to help patients with accountability and for us to monitor the medication dosage.

The first step in getting started is to have some blood work done so we can review your lab results. At your initial consultation, you will be weighed on our body composition scale and the nurse will go over your lab results and explain our weight loss plans. We will help guide you in choosing the plan that will best meet your goals.

Although the medication does a lot of the work, it is only as good as the effort you put in. Some diet modifications and exercise will significantly increase your weight loss results and help you develop habits that will help to maintain your new weight.
WhAt is semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a medication that can help people lose weight. It is a glucagon-like peptide (GLP-1) receptor agonist, which means it works by mimicking a hormone that helps regulate appetite and blood sugar level. It was originally FDA approved for the treatment of Type 2 Diabetes and after discovering it aiding in weight loss too, it was approved by the FDA for the treatment of weight loss.
This drug has shown great results for patients who have always had difficulty losing weight. Studies have shown that Semaglutide can lead to significant weight loss, improved metabolic health, and a reduced risk of chronic diseases.
What is Tirzepatide?
Tirzepatide is very similar to Semaglutide but it works as a dual receptor. It is a little more expensive but it does seems to work better for some patients that are not successful on the Semaglutide program.

The greatest weight loss results were observed when these medications are used in combination with lifestyle changes, such as improved diet and consistent exercise.
GLP-1 is a hormone produced in the small intestine that stimulates insulin secretion and inhibits glucagon secretion, thereby improving insulin sensitivity and lowering blood sugar levels. It reduces the appetite, slows down gastric emptying, and promotes a feeling of fullness.
The Nurse Practitioner will go over the dosing with you. Typically, all patients start with a small dose once weekly and the dosage is increased every four weeks as tolerated. Some patients see great results on a small dose, while others may need to continue to increase to find the dose that is most effective.
