I have been overweight my entire life, on and off many diet programs with only temporary success. A few years ago, I had actually lost some weight and had managed to keep it off until COVID hit. I struggled with losing my COVID weight gain on my own until I heard about the Alison Wellness Clinic. I was familiar with Dr. Alison through the Dunagan, Yates and Alison practice, so I had a high level of confidence going into this program.

I have to say that when I was first introduced to the Ideal Protein diet plan, I had reservations, but I was determined to stick it out. I thought I already knew so much about weight loss and nutrition through some online nutrition classes that I had taken, but I learned so much more through this program. With the guidance of my health coaches, I learned that it is not enough just to count calories. You need to take in to account the other nutrition values as well. Most of all, I have finally learned to “listen to my body” and be aware of the difference between real hunger and cravings. After being on Ideal Protein for a year (with some periodic vacation breaks), I feel I have finally discovered the key to maintaining a healthy weight!  I have learned how to judge a food by its nutrition values, and what foods are best for me and those that are not as healthy as I had once thought. Also, that it is okay to occasionally splurge on rich foods, but when to pull back. That in itself is the most valuable lesson of all. Now, I love it when people call me “skinny”!  Never before in my life would anyone have ever described me that way!

I would highly recommend Alison Wellness Clinic and the Ideal Protein plan to anyone who has struggled with weight loss. It is not magic, and it won’t happen overnight, but if you are determined- you can do it!  I would like to thank all the staff, as they are all very knowledgeable and helpful.

I came to the Alison Wellness Clinic because over the course of 7-8 years, I had gained over 50 pounds. I had tried every diet I could think of as well as went to the gym on a regular basis with no results. The diets would work for the first few weeks and then I would just start gaining the weight back again. I knew something would have to work eventually, so after hearing commercials for the Alison Wellness Clinic and looking into what they had to offer, I decided to give them a try.
 
My experience with Alison Wellness Clinic was one of the best experiences I have ever had. On the day of my consultation, my coach Amy and I decided to go with the Ideal Protein program for my weight loss. I went in thinking it may have been my hormones that were affecting my weight gain, but my coach said that if it was, we would know after about a month on the program. I was very unsure of how it was all going to work and if I would even lose any weight. There was a lot of information to take in all at once and I knew I was really going to have to have a game plan in order to make this program work for me. I ended up making myself a recipe book so that dinners and lunches would be easier for me to plan out. On my first weekly weigh in, I had lost 5.7 lbs, and that was when I knew it was not the hormones and that this was the program for me! The staff was always encouraging no matter what step of the journey I was on. They know how to make you feel welcome when you come in and that you are important to them. I enjoyed every week that I went to weigh in and never missed a week as I was always excited to see what each week’s weigh in would be. I was on the program for 7 ½ months and lost a total of 60lbs and almost 53 lbs of that was fat!
 
To say I feel better than what I did before I started the program is an understatement. I feel like a completely new person. I am excited to get up every morning and to get dressed. Before I started this journey, I would get up, put my stretchy pants on and a tank top. This is what I would wear just about every day. Blue jeans were no longer comfortable nor were anything that was remotely tight across my stomach. Now I look forward to putting on jeans and seeing what kind of outfits I can come up with. The other thing that I have noticed since this program is that when I do go hang out with friends, I am no longer the person who tries not to be noticed and will not participate in the conversation; I enjoy being part of the conversation and all around just getting out of the house. I have my confidence back and that is all thanks to the staff at Alison Wellness and my coach Amy for being my cheerleaders during my time at the clinic.
 
I would and do recommend anyone to the Alison Wellness Clinic if they have struggled with their weight and nothing has ever worked. This weight loss program is the REAL deal, you just have to put your mind to it. If you follow it the way that it is taught then you will most definitely succeed!

So many people have asked how I lost weight and why I started at Alison Wellness Clinic. My response is simply “by process of elimination, it was the only diet fad and clinic that I haven’t tried.”
 
In January, after breaking my all-time high weight (again), I decided that instead of buying bigger clothes (again) that all the clothes already in my closet were going to fit. Just walking in the door of the Alison Wellness Clinic, I realized this is going to be different from all my past diet clinics. The bright cheerful atmosphere was not the typical shameful and dreary diet clinic atmosphere. They even had cute jewelry, pajamas, lipstick, and nail polish for sale.
 
Within 30 minutes of my initial consult, my emotions went from anxiety and fear of failing (again) to determination and confidence that I could do this. After just a few weeks, I was completely comfortable with my weekly check-ins. Each consultant offered her own unique and valuable perspective. They didn’t ask textbook questions and didn’t recite a training manual, so the weekly check-ins didn’t feel like an interrogation to determine if I strayed from the plan. On the not-so-good weeks, they knew if I needed a hug or if I deserved a kick in the pants. I was back on track before I even left the building.
 
After 6 months, 65 pounds, and many inches, I had to buy new clothes. My fit-again pants, which were my original goal, are too big. Not only have I lost weight, my vitamins are back in sync, and my energy and mood are better than ever. Until starting the Alison program, I didn’t realize that the past 10 years of “gentle aging” had cumulated into several sources for weight gain. Once my regimen included correcting the sources of the fat, my lifestyle regained productivity and happiness. The weight loss not only became achievable, but exceeded my expectations.
 
I do not have a picture of those pants that had gotten “a little snug”. Those pants are hiding in the back of a closet shelf, because my focus is my now jeans fitting. My biggest smile is from the picture that my toes photobombed. After 20 years of being a diet circuit pro, for the 1st time I finally completed a diet regimen. So many people have commented and asked how I lost the weight. Some, I only know in passing, like the lady from the school pick-up line and the guy in my work building. As more people noticed me, I realized that I had found a buried treasure, and the Alison Wellness Clinic was like the big black “X” on the map.
 
People ask if I still go to Alison’s since I finished the diet. My response is simply “Of course, I love that place. I still weight-in, shop, pick-up vitamins, and visit.” Their motto is printed on their wall “What you eat in private, you wear in public” does not leave much too room for excuses. The knowledgeable staff with their bubbly personalities and their amazing products opens endless possibilities for awesome weight-loss and overall healthy improvements.

After quitting smoking a few years back, I gained the dreaded weight. I felt tired and sluggish all the time, but none of the doctors I saw could find any explanation for my symptoms. I tried every weight loss plan imaginable and just could not drop any weight. It was very frustrating for me. About the time I realized I weighed as much as I did when I was pregnant, I ran into a friend who told me about the Ideal Protein program at Alison Wellness Clinic. I had been trying to lose weight on my own but wasn’t having much success and was really lost on what direction to go.
 
I started the program a couple months ago and I am down 25 pounds which was my goal. I have a small frame and the extra weight was really slowing me down. I feel so much better now than when I started. It was only 3 days into the program when I slept thru the night. It had been years, probably a decade since I had slept well. I heard Dee Dee on the 99.1 morning show talk about her success with this program. I have been a yo-yo dieter most of my adult life without much success. I had gotten to the point that I hated shopping for clothes. I only bought things that covered me up and I was SICK of shopping in the Plus sizes. I always felt self-conscious, especially with my closet friends. I never wanted to shop for clothes with them because I was the “fat” one and I was embarrassed for them to know what size I was.
 
I have been on the Ideal Protein program. The staff has been wonderful and very supportive throughout this experience. I have tried many different weight loss programs, and a few were very successful….at least in losing the weight, but they all failed miserably in teaching me how to maintain the new weight. So, I would inevitable return to bad habits, like emotional eating or justifying “it won’t hurt to eat this one bowl of ice cream or bag of popcorn because I worked out today.” It soon spiraled into a problem when I began eating those things every day, whether I went to the gym or not; not to mention that the habit I had created from eating those foods daily caused my body to crave them even more.
 
I chose the Ideal Protein (IP) program because it seemed to be a common-sense approach to weight loss. Initially, I was skeptical about the IP foods, but as it turns out, they were delicious, satisfying, and the variety is overwhelming. The other element of IP that I enjoyed is the structure of the 4 phases; it truly is a proven method that easily moves you through the entire program. I feel so much better now. It has been more than a physical change for me.
